The Harari Community Development Center formed a PTA to help the school at the community center.
.................................................
What is PTA?PTA stands for Parent and Teacher Association. PTA is a building supporting system to school activities and projects; to achieve school objectives and to provide books, supplies, and extracurricular activities for the students of this Community Center. PTA also strengthens parent and teacher relationships through regular meetings whenever the school principle requires help and parent involvement by contacting parents or to notify the parents about their schoolwork. PTA encourages parents’ involvement in school by promoting parents to follow up on their children’s school assignments. If parents have any type of question or concerns, they will be able to contact the PTA.
How did we become the PTA?We became PTA voluntarily. We wanted to strengthen our Community Center. Since Ustad Ibrahim left we felt the need to reinforce the school here at the community center. This position entails several duties. Since our establishment, we’ve coordinated a cleaning schedule amongst the parents to make the center a more pleasant place; on most Sundays, we’ve provided breakfast in order to raise funds for the Center; we’ve helped to assist the school principle by any means; and we’ve met with the executive committee to establish good communication and better understanding.
What’s in Store for the Future? We have a plan for the future; a broad plan. These includes field trips for the students during their breaks from public schooling, purchasing new tables to better accommodate the students, different kinds of fundraising, strengthening teacher and parent relationships continuously, etc. In doing this, we need your support, as it would be astoundingly appreciated. We need all your ideas, suggestions, and participating effort. We cannot do it without you; we need your support.
